      Darren Ross

A charismatic young man trying to not compromise his morals for a quick buck, Darren Ross is a mystery of his time. To be on the streets in stormy, crime-ridden Bay Dock is most certainly to catch your death, so most who live in these crowded apartment communities are quick to sell the goods so as to keep a roof over their head, but Darren insists on keeping moralistic guidelines - he refuses to sell to women or kids - "kids" actually being a wide variance of ages all under his own jurisdiction. However, this refusal of certain customers makes it difficult for Darren to always come in EXACTLY on time with his rent. Another issue is that Darren, as a former junkie himself, is able to sort the good drugs from the bad drugs, and will reprice them accordingly, much to the Good Reverend, his landlord's, disdain. Even in the face of what some might deem inescapable doom, Darren has a smart mouth, and he's not afraid to use it. He prefers to avoid violence, although he can easily go hand to hand with people much bigger than him. He fights dirty, plays dirty, and we can also assume while he doesn't sell drugs to women, he's otherwise dirty with them, too. Most of his problems have been inflicted on him by environment as, underneath his dingy and sarcastic exterior, there is a heart of gold. Darren believes to already be at rock bottom, and has no desire to try and climb out of the hole for fear he'll slip and go down even further into the mire. He tends to be a very sad and thoughtful guy, hoping against reality that one day he'll break free of his current chains and do something that helps someone other than himself, for once. His biggest hurtle is motivating himself, but if he could overcome it, he'd be able to shine.
