The only area typically avoided on Deadline is the uncanny and eerie Mud Trench. Once a bustling city area not requiring a tax like Sunset Boulevard, it was mysteriously wiped out almost overnight by what was said to be a wandering gang, although some believe a gang could not have possibly done such a complete job of decimating the town. No one has ever come back to salvage any of the buildings or bodies - in fact, it has since been added to. It is said that the poor dump the bodies of their departed loved ones into the thick mud, and beneath the thick, slimy surface dwell hundreds, if not thousands of decomposing bodies. Moans of the dead are rumored to overpower the whispering winds of the constant rainstorms gathering here, but that's all just superstition... right?
